"QRP in the Park" - November 2008

While we had grand plans of a big trip to the "mountains of Missouri", in the end we scaled our adventure down to a trip to Memorial Park , a local city park in Jefferson City.  The players were K9ZTV, W0ESE, K0EMT, N9TRK and myself.  The weather was mostly sunny and a high of about 55 degrees.

(A little background on the name of this "adventure":  In past years, the City of Jefferson has had an event at this park called "Art in the Park", so I decided to ride on the theme.  We didn't attract nearly as many people; go figure.)

W0ESE used his usual K2 and W3EDP style wire antenna .  He also brought a straight key (W0ESE is a great SK operator).

K0EMT has a great antenna mast (quite an improvement over our crappie poles).  He used an FT817 with a "speaker wire end fed zep" antenna.

Here is K9ZTV hanging his antenna.  Good thing the park ranger was nowhere around.  He brought his KX-1 and a wire anenna.

And yours truly and family.  I brought my  K2, an experimental end fed wire setup and a bag of Funyuns.

N9TRK also came by and did a little operating.

This "9:1 Unun" and an 80 foot wires was my experiment for the day.  It appears to be a success.
